He did not want to plant a potato seed to have food during the winter, so he found an easier way out. One day, he encounter a leprechaun and wished for the biggest pratie in the world. Especially at the beginning of the school year because they can learn from Jordan. This book has many themes that students can reflect on. This book best fits 5th and 6th grade.  Summary: The book, "New Kid", is about a boy, Jordan, who goes to a private school but seems to not fit in. He is one of the few African American students in the school and thinks everyone is always starting at him. He loves art. so he draws about his life in his journal. That is where he shares his feelings and thoughts. Jordan learns that being different is not so bad after all. It is what makes him unique.
