This book is about a lazy man named, Jamie O'Rourke. He did not want to plant a potato seed to have food during the winter, so he found an easier way out. One day, he encounter a leprechaun and wished for the biggest pratie in the world. The praite turned into a big potato, so he shared it would the whole village. The village soon got tired of eating potato the whole winter therefore, they told Jamie he would not have to plant a potato seed every again, they will do it for him.

This book is about 3 selfish frogs. They fought over everything and did not want to share. One rainy day, they had to stand on a rock because the pond was turning into mud. However, the rocks soon dissolved except for one, so they had to share that one rock. They felt safe being next to each other. At the end, the learned that sharing makes them happy.

This story is about a little girl named Hetty and her brother Hank. They wanted to buy shoes but did not have money to buy them. Therefore, they planted turnips seeds to sell them and get money to buy shoes. They were successful until they gave everyone turnips and was left with only one. They enter a turnip contest and won, so they received money. With that money they were able to buy their shoes. 



Title: I Was Born About 10,00 Years Ago

This book was about a little boy who lived about ten thousand years ago. He talks about all the stuff and events he has seen. He mentioned King Pharaoh, Santa, Adam and Eve, Samson, Columbus, and much more. He says a brief description about what happened with each person. 




Title: Rooster's Off to See the World 
Genre: Traditional Literature 
Author: Eric Carle 
Major awards: N/a
Age group: 3-8

This book is about a rooster who wanted to see the world. While he was on his trip, he encounter a two cats, three frogs, four turtles, and five fishes. They were all on the way to explore the world. However, the fishes decided they wanted to return back home, so they left. Soon after they left, the turtles, frogs, and cats left too. The rooster was left alone, so he went home too.

  Title: Wonder  Genre: Fiction  Author: R.J Palacio  Major awards: Maine Student book award  Age group: 8-12 years   Teacher Evaluation: I think this is such a beautiful book. I would want my students to read and learn the message the novel brings. The book is easy to read, however I would probably recommend 4th or 5th graders to read it. This novel can be read at any time during the school year.  Summary: This book is about a 10 year old name August Pullman. He is a regular kid who likes to do regular activities. However, his face makes him abnormal. He has had several surgeries on his face which makes him look far from normal. This book talks about the journey he goes through as being an "odd" child living in society.

Title: Emmanuel's Dream Genre: non-fiction    Author: Laurie Thompson  Major awards: NA   Age group: 5-8 years Teacher Evaluation: I would want to read this book to my class. Preferably 3rd or 4th grade. It is important that students learn to accept others despite of their disabilities.  Summary: This book is about a boy named Emmanuel born in West African. He has one deformed leg and most people look down on him. They excluded him and do not want to be around him. However, his mother has always been his supporter and encourages him to follow his dreams.

Genre: fiction    Author: Barbara Park  Major awards: NA   Age group: 7-9 years Teacher Evaluation: I personally am a fan of Junie B Jones books so I would want my students to listen to this audio book. It would be a fun book to read during the Holidays. Second graders would enjoy Junie's Christmas spirit.   Summary: This book is another collection added to the Junie B Jones series. It is a Holiday edition for Christmas. Junie is in the Holiday spirit but some of her classmates are not, especially May.  They try to ruin her spirit but she does not let it get to her.
