Summary: This book is about a girl named Grace who likes to reenact characters from books. She puts her mind to anything she wants to be. Her classroom is going to be part of the "Peter Pan" play. Grace wants to be Peter Pan but her classmates tell her she can't because she is a girl and African American. However, that does not stop Grace.

However, they seemed to form a connection throughout the book. Students can read this book at the beginning of a school year to learn they can also form friendships with other students.
Summary: This book is about two boys named Joe and Ravi. They started their first week in fifth grade. Despite the fact that Joe is white and Ravi is Indian, they have something in common. They create a friendship trying to help each other insid and outside of school.

Teacher Evaluation: This book is for upper grade levels like 4th or 5th grade. I believe this book should be read as a class instead of a read aloud. Students can learn a lot about what is it like to have cancer. I would use this book in the unit of romance.
Summary: This book is about Hazel and Augustus. They both had cancer and were part of a support group, where they met. They went on an adventure to find their favorite book author. However, that journey took a turn when Augustus had some heartbreaking news.
