Title: A Bad Case of Stripes

Teacher Evaluation: I would want to read this book to 1st grade or second grade class. I would most likely read this book in the beginning of the school year because this book takes place during the that time. As a teacher, I would use this book to welcome students in the classroom and make them feel comfortable. 

Summary: A Bad Case of Stripes is about a girl name Camilia. She wakes up with rainbows stripes all over her body. It seems like whatever people say, her skin turns into it. She is very self conscious about the way she looks. 



Title: The Tale of Despereaux  
Genre: Fantasy Fiction   
Author: Kate DiCamillo  
Major awards: Newbery 
Age group: 7-10 years

Teacher Evaluation: This is such a cute book to read in a 3rd or 4th grade. It talks about being brave and having a positive attitude. Students can be inspire by Desperaux and want to be like him. Students will learn it is okay to stand out from others. 

Summary: This book is about a mouse name Desperaux. He is very unique from other mouses and does not act like other mouses. He gets in trouble for breaking a rule and talking to humans, so he gets punished. However, that does not stop his uplifted spirt. Even when he's in a bad place, he thinks positive.


Title: Walk Two Moons 
Genre: Fiction   
Author: Sharon Creech 
Major awards: Newbery 
Age group: 9-12 years

Teacher Evaluation: I would read aloud this book in a 3th or 4th grade classroom. Students can enjoy learning about Sal's journey. 

Summary: Walk Two Moons is about a girl name Sal. She recently lost her mother and goes on a journey to follow her mothers final footsteps. Through this book, the reader can see her perspective of her feelings.
